I've just added scans of the awesome Super Nintendo Magazine from the UK called Superplay. It ran from 1992 to 1996 and had a total of 48 issues. We've got scans for all the issues of this gem available at our Magazine Scans Section.

Some more information on Superplay Magazine:

Super Play was a UK based SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) magazine which ran from November 1992 to September 1996.

Super Play was notable for a number of reasons. Firstly, it covered in great detail the computer role playing games genre. Many of these games were never released officially in the UK, and therefore the magazine concentrated much effort in covering aspects of the American, and moreover the Japanese games markets.

It also featured in-depth, intelligent and passionate coverage of all aspects of gaming. Given the close ties between the world of Japanese RPGs and animation, the magazine also heavily featured information about manga and anime by noted UK based writer, Helen McCarthy. It can be said that Super Play was one of the magazines that helped to push forward what was at the time a nascent market for anime in the UK. In this vein, the magazine itself was also notable as its cover illustrations (and many illustrations between the covers) were done in manga style by artist Wil Overton. The cover even had the name "Super Play" written in katakana.

The magazine came out monthly, and would often feature a Final Fantasy 6 forum (probably the game held in the highest esteem by both the writers and the readership). It is interesting to note that this game was never even granted a UK release. Squaresoft games were the focus for much of the attention in the magazine, given their high-quality RPG output.

Some of the most recognizable names on the Super Play staff were Matt Bielby, Tony Mott (former editor of Future Publishing stablemate Edge), Jason Brookes, Jonathan Davies and Zy Nicholson.

The magazine was based in Bath, England and published by Future Publishing. Despite its fairly short run (47 issues, just short of 4 years, and a one-off "Gold" special), and many years since its demise, it still enjoys a fan following on the internet.

Its end came with the declining popularity of the SNES itself, both among designers and the public, as the Nintendo 64 was on the cusp of release making way for the next generation of games consoles. It was 'relaunched' (not the same magazine, but most of the staff remained) in March 1997 as N64 Magazine, which in turn became known as NGC Magazine before its closure in 2006, which in turn led to another 'relaunch' as NGamer.

I've just added a new section to our native gaming music section. This time around it's 40GB+ of XBox Game rips in various formats (flac, wav, wma, adp, pcm, etc.). There are 165 soundtracks in this section. Check out our XBox Game Music Section.

Today I have the pleasure of releasing to you a high quality FLAC rip of the Final Fantasy XIII OST. Composed by Masashi Hamauzu, this compelling score is definitely worth listening to. It's a 4 disc set [I haven't included the bonus disc in this set..] with 85 tracks and has some of the best music heard in Final Fantasy to date. I've just added an enormous collection of Nintendo Gamecube Soundtracks to our Native Music Formats Section. These soundtracks are in ADP and HPS formats which are ripped directly from NGC games. There's a collection of almost 200 soundtracks in very high quality streams. It's quite simple for Windows users to play these files. Simply grab this WinAMP + Plugins Pack and you're good to go.

Good news for everyone! Kick-starting EPs upcoming 10th birthday celebrations, I've just got us a brand new server. As of now, a large number of downloads have been moved to this new box. It's got a 1GBps connection and is located in Washington DC. What this means is that our US users will now finally be able to get great download speeds! This server is strategically located to serve our European users with good speeds as well. The It's connected to multiple internet backbones and therefore should be able to provide good speeds to most of our users. Well, that's all for now folks, happy downloading! : )

I've just added a HUGE new section to our Native Gaming Music Section. In-case you didn't know, our native gaming music section covers video game soundtracks in native formats such as SPC, PSF, NSF, GYM, etc. Basically these music formats are directly ripped from games and therefore are usually the most accurate soundtracks in terms of likeness to what you hear within the game.

So today we present to you our Dreamcast Sound Format (or DSF) soundtracks section. We're carrying a total of 387 soundtracks here totalling a whopping 48GBs of music! You'll find original soundtracks for almost all the dreamcast titles that we carry. You can also convert these soundtracks to your favourite formats (mp3, flac, etc.) using freely available tools. I've just added a pretty great soundtrack to our High Quality Soundtracks Section. This time around it's Banjo Kazooie's Great Adventure Original Soundtrack. This release has some really beautiful tracks from the Nintendo 64 title.

bernielindell has uploaded an awesome collection of Turbografx 16 CD / Super CD USA releases to our tracker. You'll find that this is the most complete release of titles available anywhere out there. Here's what he says:

I have uploaded a complete set of US released games for the Turbo Grafx CD/Super CD. I have also included some rare proto types, and some english translated games. ALL these have been personally tested in emulators, and actual hardware.

I've just added the two disc Parasite Eve OST to our High Quality Soundtracks section in TTA format. Parasite Eve was known for it's great music and gameplay and is definitely one of the more popular titles for the Sony Playstation.

According to our tweets a few days ago, a massive 3DO update was coming. Well, it's finally here with 395 additions to our 3DO section. This update mostly includes Japanese and European titles for the 3DO that we didn't carry earlier. The total number of titles that we now have is 536, that's a total of almost 110GBs of 3DO ISOs.
