Justin rates this game: 5/5The Legend of Zelda is such a famous game that I don't think to many need to be assured its good. However if your new to the series or have never played Ocarina of time I can tell you this is for sure you need to play this game. Ocarina of time was one of the first games ever to alow the player to control camera movements using the "Z"-button targeting system, this in turn makes for better gameplay.
Ocarina of time is the only Zelda game in wich you play as young link and mature into adult, and it is also the first to use musical melodies as part of the gameplay. The characters in this game are very memerable even those who apear only once in the entire game. The only way I can summerize this game is as the best Zelda game ever.
LoZ Fan rates this game: 5/5The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time was my first venture into The Legend of Zelda franchise and I have yet to step foot out of it. This truly is the best Legend of Zelda game ever, there are some that come close but this will always be the very best.
Mystic Apprentice rates this game: 5/5This is without a doubt the best Legend of Zelda, and possibly the best game for the N64, ever made.
I had come from playing A Link to the Past before trying out The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and I was amazed.
The game play is amazing. You start out as Link as a child, and unlike RPG games, it is all action so it takes more than strategizing to make your way through this game. All the sword fights have to be done by the player, unlike the final fantasy series where you simply choose an attack from the menu.
All of the dungeons and towns in Zelda are unique, meaning that it's not the same town over and over again, only with a new name and a different color scheme ;) Each place is quite memorable with it's own set of characters and landmark distinctions. It was nice because they incorporated bits of the older Zelda games into this one, yet it was a totally new, refreshing story.
This game gets hard fast. It would seem almost impossible to get through some places without a strategy guide. So you might want to turn around and buy one the moment you get the game to save yourself hours of frustration stuck in a dungeon, at least to reference with on occasion. But don't let that turn you off, the game is absolutely amazing and blows all the other Zelda titles away!
Deco rates this game: 5/5Ocarina of Time, until recently the best Zelda title created. The story focuses on Link, a boy from the forest who recieves a fairy guardian one day, and a message. His quest sent him through time more than once, collecting weapons and gagets from many dungeons to face the evil Ganondorf.
The story is very well told, and any fan should get this game to refresh on the story while waiting for the new 3DS port.
Game Hunter III rates this game: 5/5Pretty sweet game. One of the most legendary game ever made, in my opinion. For the most part, it's a puzzle solving game with a few fights along the way to keep you entertained. You play as "Link" (or whatever you choose to name yourself) and set about saving the world, as the usual in games. What makes this game interesting is it's (spoilers, look away) Time traveling feature. You can travel to before evil took over, and after evil took over and set things up for yourself in the past for the future. And remember, if you ever get stuck, you can always cheat by looking up F.A.Q.s online. Which if you've never played a Zelda game, you probably will.
