Metal Black (World) ROM

Metal Black is a 1991 horizontal space ship shooting game by Taito. This game was originally going to be Darius III, but eventually it went on to become its own separate game. The game is about one or two pilots going on a dangerous mission to destroy the evil Nemesis forces to save the human race. This game is unique because there are no alternate weapons in the game. In their place are "newalone" molecules hat can be collected to powerup your ship's shot power. You can also fire an epic laser that is more powerful the higher your power level is. Keep in mind, however that enemies can collect newalone molecules for themselves and fire their own laser attacks! when they fire their laser, fire your laser back at them and keep tapping the shot button to push the laser attack back at them  and watch them blow up in a spectacular explosion! Metal Black provindes plenty of challenge to keep you on your toes, but not too much challenge to the point where it goes into insane bullet hell, but at times there are some cheap kills here and there (like that one Cheap kill one THE FIRST FREAKING LEVEL!), but those come very rarely. Overall, Taito has provided an excellent shooting experience with Metal Black and should be checked out.

Recommended for: Anyone who liked Darius Gaiden or G Darius, shmup fans.
