You start the game with two characters called Elliot and Claris. Elliot wants to play basketball but fails at the trials. Claris wants to sing, but she isn't selected at the audition. They both go home and fall asleep. This is where the game starts..

In their dreams they visit Nightopia, a land that is ruled by the evil Wizeman and his villainous Nightmaren. Once the kids reach Ideya Palace in Nightopia, they team up with NiGHTS and embark on a quest to save the world of dreams. NiGHTS is indeed a strange title. The gameplay is truly bizarre. This title was the Saturn's first one to use the 3D Control Pad. You literally fly in most of the game and the 3D control makes the experience extremely smooth.

The atmosphere in Nights is truly electrifying. The Mystic Forests and the Frozen Bell truly do create the illusion of actually being there within the game. You play through a number of "Dreams" to finally arrive at different endings in the game. This title is a truly original one, and a good one at that. Over here we have both editions of NiGHTS available for download. The regular NiGHTS as well as the Christmas edition of the game. The games are mostly the same the only difference in the Christmas edition is that it was more like a demo version of NiGHTS with some changes such as the Present Box. Also due to it being an early demo, there are a number of differences in gameplay mechanics.
