Our users have been requesting a search function on emuparadise for quite a while. I spent a few hours today writing a search function to quickly search our entire database for games. The result of this can be easily seen if you move your eyes to the top-right corner of every page. There you go, that's the Quick Search field. All you have to do is type in the title for the game that you're looking for, say "Mario Kart 64" (without the quotes ofcourse..) and hit enter! That's it, you'll be shown all the versions of Mario Kart 64 that we have for you =) Pretty simple, really!

The function itself is quite rudimentary for now as you can't choose to search only particular systems but I created a temporary workaround to this. When you enter a particular section, say Sony Playstation ISO's, you'll be shown a search box to search within that section only. Pretty nifty, huh ?

I know, I know, search is pretty basic on the internet. But on the bright side, we finally have it for you! Have fun searching our enormous database! Hopefully it's now a little easier to find just the titles that you're looking for!

Like I said in an earlier post, we had some corrupt files in our GBA Database. I've re-uploaded the entire set of 2808 Gameboy Advance titles and they should all be working now. I also took the liberty of renaming these roms with the pocketheaven datfiles because our roms were uploaded through the years as releases came out and thus there were some discrepancies here and there.

Apart from this, folks have been requesting for a long time that we have Gameboy Advance Roms sorted by their names as well [we always had them according to release numbers so far..] and thus I've created a new section where you can browse through the roms according to their names and grab them as you like =)

Also, I've been notified of some corrupted data in our GBA Roms section so I'll be replacing the Roms with a fresh set that coincides with the Pocket Heaven datfiles. This should happen sometime later today. So watch out for that! : )

I don't know for how long we were experiencing this problem but due to missing entries in our downloads database, some of the older N64, PSX, SNES, GBC, NES, Goodsets, etc. were not working. This has now been fixed! So you should be able to grab everything you like now, old or new =)

Amog has a great article up about 30 vintage arcade titles that still kick major ass. Featured in the list are Contra, Bubble Bobble, R Type, the unforgettable Pac-Man and many more! They also made a mention of EmuParadise but said that we're being circled by lawyers. :P Not quite true, but I guess it's just an attempt to warn users to be careful when looking for such content.

I've added a new server with 100Mbps of bandwidth in Europe for the Sony Playstation Complete Collection, Sega Naomi Roms Section and CD-I ISO's Section. You'll find that when you visit these sections to download a file, there'll be two links, one labelled Primary Server (300MBps) and one labelled European Mirror. Visitors from Europe should use the European Mirror as this will offer increased speeds for you and ensure a speedy download. Well, I hope this gives our visitors a decent speed boost!

Just like the ability to play NES titles online right here @ EP, you can now play GB/GBC titles as well! Play any of the 4000 Gameboy/Gameboy Color titles that we have right here in your browser window! No need to go through messy emulator installations or setup procedures. All you need to do is navigate to *any* page on our Gameboy/Gameboy Color ROM Sections and click on "Play Now". You can also choose whether you'd like to play with or without sound. You know what's best for you =)

I've been thinking about adding this new feature on emuparadise for a long while. Finally, it's been done! You can now play our NES Roms online right inside your browser window! We're using vNES which is a Java based NES emulator for emulating every single NES title on emuparadise.org. That's basically over 2500 titles from all over the world! All you need is a web browser and a fast enough PC. It's quite simple really, you browse our NES Roms Section, choose any title of your liking and then once you're on the info page for that game you will see a "Play" link. You can choose to play with or without sound (without sound is more work friendly of-course ; ). The games even support saving when your NES title supports it! Check out this new feature right away in our NES Roms section!

It's a sad day indeed for Chrono Trigger fans worldwide. Crimson Echoes, a Chrono Trigger fan-fiction project has been scrapped because Square Enix sent a Cease & Desist letter to the authors. Crimson Echoes was at 98% completion and was scheduled for release on the 31st of May 2009. Great timing Square Enix. SHAME ON YOU! =/ Here's an excerpt from the Crimson Echoes website:

Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes was a fan project modification of the Chrono Trigger ROM begun in late 2004. Development continued thanks to a dedicated group of fans through 2009. By May 2009, the game featured ~35 hours of game play, 10 multiple endings, and 23 chapters, much like the original Chrono Trigger; it was around 98% complete. The plot featured the original cast as they struggled against a new villain risen from the legacy of Zeal.

Unfortunately, they've been asked to take down other projects as well such as Prophet's Guile, which was released earlier and was a rom-modification which took Magus' story further after he returned to Zeal. More info on Prophet's Guile:

So after many months of work, the staff of the Chrono Compendium have successfully completed their pet project, Chrono Trigger: Prophet's Guile, a major ROM hack of Chrono Trigger starring Magus and his life in the Kingdom of Zeal. It's the first Chrono Trigger hack ever to feature a brand new story, new scenarios, and artwork. While the game is short, roughly the length of 3 Chrono Trigger "scenarios", it attempts to elaborate on the life of Magus before his involvement with Crono's team, with some cleverly scripted scenes. The game was developed to stir up interest in the ROM hacking community again, which Zeality says has grown stagnant over the past few years, using the Chrono Trigger editing tool "Temporal Flux" released in 2004.

Well, that's the long and short of it. Anyhow, I've decided to make available to our visitors whatever's left of these two AMAZING modifications. I've got Prophet's Guile (100%) and Demo 2 of Crimson Echoes (it has 40 minutes to a few hours of playable content).

You need to patch the original Chrono Trigger (USA) ROM to play. I've listed a few IPS Patching utilities as well as a link to our download page for Chrono Trigger. I hope all Chrono fans out there enjoy this : )
