Klonoa Heroes is one of the most intriging spin-offs of the Klonoa Series.
Being the only action-rpg in a style very similar to Zelda games, this title brings graphics that seem 3d, much like the original PSX game, new weapons for the hero, and the introduction of new characters Guntz, the gunslinger wolf, and Pango, the bomber armadillo.

The story starts with Klonoa dreaming about becoming a hero, and he sets out to obtain the Star Medal and fulfil his dream. During this quest, he meets both Guntz and Pango, and also a vicious cat named Janga; who turns out to be the biggest troublemaker in your way.

Other characters from the series also return, like Popka, Lolo, and even Joker (Joka). Even if this game was only released in Japan, there are guides online to help you to understand the unique story that this game brings.

  : Klonoa wanders around a different variety of 2D world, this time a
  : selection of Zelda-style top-down maps connected by a larger overworld.
  : As in his regular platform adventures, he attacks with the shot fired
  : from his magic ring, but here it seems as if it's a straightforward blunt
  : instrument rather than a grappling tool. Familiar blobby red enemies
  : infest the map alongside more resilient gold monsters. The latter are
  : immune to Klonoa's direct strikes, which bounce off them with a clinking
  : sound effect and a neat katakana visual effect to go with it. Discretion
  : is thus the better part of valor in some situations, although deftly
  : sneaking around some enemies yields special items extracted from treasure
  : chests.
