Really? And The Gamers Are The Violent Ones

Now, we have talked about parenting a lot this week. I am not a parent, atleast not that I know of. I am pretty sure that this isn’t the way that you should punish your kid. Especially if he skipped school to play video games.

The 13-year-old boy is Sok Khorn. He was repeatedly beaten and then chained to this pole. His father, Sok Thoeun, is being pursued by the authorites and will probably face 20 years in a Cambodian prison. Thoeun, is known through out his community for being violent to his children.

Hmmm, if this kid grows up to make skin suits and they blame video games – I will just punch the clock and check out of reality. The fuck, really? What parent would think this is a good idea.

My dad used to beat the hell out of me for playing video games. It’s why my nose is misshaped and why I have a chipped front tooth. Neither of those made me violent but trust me I could have easily gone the other direction. No one likes to mention other possible causes.

Obviously, his dad wasn’t a video game fan. So what would be a bigger fuck you to this douche bag parent? Really, if I could, I would shower this kid in video games and love. That’s what kids really need.

I don’t get it. How hard is it, to love your kid more than the family dog? How hard is it to feel compassion and understanding? I am lighting a candle and a blunt for this kid. Hopefully, he might read this and understand that someone a world away understands and cares.
