You've finally been granted your Pokemon trainer's license. Now, it's time to head out to become the world's greatest Pokemon trainer. It's going to take all you've got to collect 150 Pokemon in this enormous world. Catch and train monsters like the shockingly-cute Pikachu. Face off against Blastoise's torrential water cannons. Stand strong when facing Pidgeot's stormy Gust. Trade with friends and watch your Pokemon evolve. Important - no single Pokemon can win it all. Can you develop the ultimate Pokemon strategy to defeat the 8 GYM Leaders and become the greatest Pokemon Master of all time?

Ah, Pokemon Red. The game that started it all. Back when Pokemon were Pokemon and not just poorly made monsters. It may not have color but it makes up with the fact it was the first Pokemon to have these Pokemon, this plot, and all of the other stuff the older games copied.

The mission: Defeat Pokemon Gyms to obtain all 8 badges of the Kanto region, while beating your rival to the title of Pokemon Champion.

That's it. That's essentially what this game's about. Simple, yes. But it's a long journey and you'll meet new friends along the way to help you.

You build your team of 6 from a collection of 151 (yeah, I included Mew, do something about it) creatures called "Pokemon" who possess the powers of the elements in the form of attacks. This team of 6 is used to fight other trainers who block you on your way to the throne.

Sounds easy? Well it is. You go around the world collecting animals to fight other animals and become the world's best dog-fighter. It's simple, but we love it all the same.

This is the first Pokemon and it definitely set a high benchmark. I read something that said that Pokemon was born perfect and I think they were right!
